It was a dark and stormy night... the winds howled and the seas churned. Rain fell upon the churned soil of an abandoned graveyard, cast in the black shadow of an abandoned mansion as lighting flashed through the skies. Inside the mansion, mad cackling could be heard...

Modern Combat is back! This thread will be the official feedback thread for the revised mod. For those that may not know Modern Combat was a great mod created by absolutely brilliant moders of the past (Psychotickittens & A Guy), over a decade ago. In the interim it had been abandoned but we have now begun the process of revising it and updating it for the modern era. There have been significant changes the mod, while at the same time many things have remained the same. The the spirit and of the mod remains the same as well as its core gameplay premise.

As the title of the mod implies, this is essentially a full conversion of Wesnoth into a modern setting. Included are modern factions, units, research system, a unique starting system, unique weapons such as missiles, etc. We have plans to add all sorts of interesting factions, features, and units.

I played this mod many, many years ago with fond memories and it brings me great joy to have it back. The mod is live again in the add-on server, and many content expansions/bug fixes will be coming. It is currently very playable and there are no rolling errors during play, however some things may not be working perfectly as intended or there may be event related bugs. It is a very large mod with many files, so issues may be overlooked.

Please provide any feedback towards the state of the mod here, just as we will make updates on future content and changes as well.

Modern Combat is officially in the add-on server!

Current Notes:

There are only 6 factions ready for release, but more will be coming shortly.
True range has been replaced with a projectile system, created by right clicking certain units
There will be some old, or unused code in the file as cleanup is ongoing.
Mod will be added to the add-on server shortly.

The pace of progress has been significant with a line of updates/fixes:

We will soon be adding some additional factions as we wrap up some of these major bug fixes including capitalist, tactician, and anarchist. There will be a major overhaul done to research at some point as well, which is also when we will re-add technologist with significant enhancements. Maybe mechs for technologist? We will see.

Modern Combat Reborn HYPE! Great to have this very unique mod finally back on the add-on server list! And not only has it returned, but it will be improved! :D Surely I'd think PK and A Guy would be proud of this, lol.
